Solari's

Solari's is fondly remembered by many locals as the epitome of the New Orleans food emporium. The main store on Royal Street offered a staggering array of delicacies from around the world, from Sonny Boy butter and Maillard's Marshmallow Mousse to bulk Russian sardines and Laforest truffled sausages from France. Solari's closed in about 1965 and its building was demolished. Mr. B's restaurant and a parking garage now stand on the site.
