Out & About

A streetcar gingerly traverses a Sewerage and Water Board excavation, ca. early 1960s. The site cannot positively be identified, but the photo appears to show the Canal Street streetcar at Jefferson Davis Parkway. During 1960-1961, the Sewerage and Water Board installed a 10-foot square covered concrete canal under the Jeff Davis neutral ground from Conti Street to Tulane Avenue.
